As of January 1, 2018, in accordance with Public Act 17-231, each Municipality will be responsible for the permitting and enforcement of all bingo games, Bazaars and Raffles taking place in their town.
All applications must be returned to the Town of Bolton - Selectman's Office in person.
Bazaar and Raffle Permit Types

Raffles
Raffle permits are issued to qualifying non-profit organizations wishing to run a raffle in town. There are various classes of raffle permits which are based on factors such as length of time tickets will be sold and the aggregate value of prizes to be awarded. The application fees differ for each raffle permit type. Examples of raffles are cash prizes, duck race, cow chip.
After each raffle has been permitted and completed, a verified statement to include gross receipts, expenses, net profit and prizes awarded is to be filed by the organization at the end of the next succeeding month.

Bazaars
Bazaar permits are issued to qualifying non-profit organizations wishing to run a bazaar in town. Bazaar permit application fees are on a per day basis. Examples of bazaar games are 50/50s, tea cup and blower ball games.
After each bazaar has been permitted and completed, a verified statement to include gross receipts, expenses, net profit and prizes awarded is to be filed by the organization at the end of the next succeeding month.

Bingo
To host a bingo event in the Town of Bolton, non-profit organizations must:
- Register their organization with the Town of Bolton
- File a permit application with the Town of Bolton at least 10 days prior to the event. The permit must be approved before the event can take place. Note: PTA and Senior organizations only need to register with the Town, and do not need to file permit applications.
- Within 10 days following the event, the organization is required to submit a financial report detailing gross receipts, prizes awarded, and net proceeds. A payment equal to 5% of net proceeds must be remitted to the Town of Bolton at that time.
