September Program Wrap-up

October 1, 2024

September was a busy month at the Bentley Memorial Library with diverse programs, story times and engaging displays. We hosted an evening of flower arranging where everyone took home a fresh bouquet they created. Toby and Amelia, two certified therapy dogs visited Bentley to spend a morning reading with our young patrons. Illeana Douglas, an Emmy nominated performer and author, presented a fascinating program highlighting Hollywood movies, performers, and Connecticut’s connection to the big screen. The Friends of the Library sponsored the program and sold 10 copies of her book, earning the Friends $80.00 to help support future programs. The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon was the source for our September book discussion, and we ended our programming for the month with an evening of poetry featuring Bessy Reyna, Bolton’s poet laureate, and her evocative and inspirational poetry.
