2026 Property Tax Bills

Property tax bills were mailed at the end of June and are available to view and pay online.

Tax bills must be paid or postmarked by August 3, 2026, to avoid interest.

Interest accrues at 1.5% per month from the July 1st due date, which is equivalent to 18% per year.

Payments made, postmarked or received after August 3 with no postmark will be subject to 3% interest from August 4-31st. Minimum interest is $2.00 per bill.

What if I do not receive a tax bill?
Not receiving a tax bill does not invalidate the tax or any interest due.  If you do not receive a tax bill please visit the Town’s website at BOLTONCT.GOV and select “Tax Look Up and Pay”  You may also contact the Tax Office if you are unable to locate your bill.

MOTOR VEHICLE TAX BILLS
Please check your vehicle registration to make sure it is active.  An expired registration may be the reason you did not receive a motor vehicle tax bill.  If there has been a lapse in your registration, please contact the Assessor’s office. Once your registration has been renewed, the Assessor’s Office can add the vehicle to the tax rolls to help avoid multiple tax bills later.

Check DMV’s online services for registration status and compliance issues:

USPS POSTMARK CHANGES

USPS recently changed their procedures in which your mail may not be postmarked the same day it is mailed.  Being that this office must use a U.S. postmark for interest purposes please make sure if you are mailing your tax bill close to the last day, that you go to the post office to get a hand stamped same day postmark to make sure that the date of mailing is the date on your envelope.
