PRESS RELEASE FROM THE TOWN OF BOLTON

Dear Bolton Residents,

I wanted to reach out personally today to provide the most up to date information on the tax issue that we are all affected by. Earlier this week the Ad Hoc Committee that was formed by the Board of Selectmen met. At that meeting they determined that more legal issues needed to be vetted and they asked the Town Attorney to work on finding answers to those issues. Individual members of the Committee have worked with staff and the administration to collect the information necessary to make progress toward a resolution. In addition to the Town Attorney, we are consulting CT OPM, the town’s auditor and our IT provider. The Committee will hold its second meeting on Monday July 22, at 7:00 pm at the Town Hall. They will be working on creating a work plan to continue progress toward resolving the issue. This meeting will be in person and virtual. The agenda is posted on the town’s website. We will continue to provide information as it becomes available. I know that many of you are frustrated but what appears to be a simple issue is much more complex than it seems on the surface. I ask that you continue to exercise patience and understanding as we work diligently to resolve the issues for all our residents.
