Beginning in August 2022, changes came for Bolton voters. That’s because the state legislature readjusted state House and state Senate districts across Connecticut under a program called reapportionment. This meant changes to where you voted and whom you will be voting for as State Representative.
Reapportionment occurs every 10 years following the completion of the federal census. The adjustments are made to keep all state House and Senate districts about the same population size (for House districts, 24,000 citizens; for Senate districts, 100,000 citizens).
After reapportionment in August 2022, Bolton had two House districts:
- The 8th (Bolton voting District 1, the north part of Bolton)
- The 55th (Bolton voting District 2, the south part of Bolton)
